Well, Shaun officially started school at Edison last evening! He's taking writing (for the first 6 wks. then switches over to English the last 6 wks.) music appreciation, math, and i forget the other :( He said that he thinks that his classed will be okay. He's very excited, so i don't think it really matters what he's taking at this point.
As for me, I've had a lot of time to myself, so-far-so-good, it's only been 2 days HA!
Jeremiah 29:11 keeps playing over and over in my head; For I know the plans that i have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.
Wow, it strengthens me just to even type it out! I am determined to stay focused on God. We have no idea what the Lord is going to do with us, but we're ready and willing to follow and obey.
I'm right with Paul in Philippians 3:7-16 too much for me to write, because i take tooo long, but he's talking about his goal in life, and how he wants to know Him. These verses among many (the entire bible for me) will give me everything that i will need for the next 4 yrs. I'm just thankful for everything that God has given me, and for His grace!
Just a little snapshot of Shaun before he left for his first day of school...
Just a little funny story about Vaughn yesterday.
He peed all over our floor and bath mat, and when i walked into the bathroom i said;
Vaughn, what is this?
V.J.; Uhmmm...pee.
Mommy; why did you do this?
Here's the punchline...
V.J. Because we're sinners.
I gasped and pulled him near me and held him. I felt at that time i needed to take advantage of planting a seed, and so we talked. THAT was pure grace from God, for me! Otherwise i would have overreacted and would have never seen it as a learning lesson. The secret is that God was teaching me a lot more at that moment than i was teaching Vaughn! Thank you Jesus!

Such profound wisdom from our little Vaughn. :)
Praying for Shaun this week and praying for YOU this week. (And for the next 4 years......)
Love you, Jessi!
children will say the funniest and yet most profound things without even knowing it! :)
God's blessings to you and Shaun as you follow His leading!
Nicole, i asked shaun if he has seen you yet, and he said no. he didn't know that you were going to edison too!
thanks to all of you for the encouragement! it's nice to know that there are prayers being prayed for us!
Yeah for school!!! Did you guys go school supply shopping together? That was one of my favorite parts of starting school again (even in college - did I just admit that?). Just think next year (I think) you will have 2 men at school!
I am sure these next few years will tough but hopefully Shaun will enjoy school and then it will all be worth it if he gets a job he loves!!! We are praying for you guys!
We are very excited for Shaun, and your family. We will continue to pray fo all of you! We will miss you on tuesday nights, but at least we can read your blog to see how things are going.
I think you and Shaun are both insane (in a good way, of course)! We're praying for you, and excited to see what God has planned for your future. This is going to be quite the roller-coaster ride. :-)
i have a feeling that shaun was the only person over the age of 15 who was excited to go back to school this week!
and why don't i see spanish on his schedule of classes????
seriously, i too have been praying for you both and i look forward to hearing lots of updates :)
